ABOUT ABOUT

Improvisation for Dialogue takes an inclusive approach to theatre that centers on engaging in dialogue about oppression in our lives. This workshop will allow participants to build a transferable improvisation tool set aimed at empowering members to to pose questions and create much needed forums in their own communities. We will work with issues that workshop participants are passionate about to create activating scenes-- scenes that propose new points of view, spark discussion, and offer the possibility to enact alternative solutions. We will borrow from the work of Michael Rhod and Augusto Boal. Theatre, in this case serves as a common language, a safe space, a platform for exploration, a forum for problem solving, a practice space for real life. Doug Patterson writes, “Our dialogue is what we become.” Bring an issue that important to you, and join Laughing Pig Theatre for an evening of play. Please wear clothes that enable you to move freely.
